The Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative website provides information, training, tools, and other resources for library staff at the colleges and universities served by the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC).

Visitors are invited to learn more about the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC) and the 150+ libraries at our state's 40 public institutions of higher education. A clickable map locates the colleges and universities that we serve and provides links to each institution's library website.

FALSC would like to clarify our current business status: FALSC products and services continue to be available for use by all institutions. At this time, we do NOT anticipate discontinuing these services without due notice to all institutions. UWF and FLVC leadership have given staff direction to proceed with normal operations for the next few weeks. Work on all essential services will continue.

The Board of Governors released the following statement regarding FALSC/FLVC’s situation:

The Governor’s veto provides a pathway for the planned transition of programs that are essential to universities and colleges, including online education services, out of the University of West Florida (UWF). The State University System is collaborating with UWF and the Florida Department of Education to ensure a smart and strategic plan for the transition of the essential programs. This transition allows us to address previously identified challenges within the Complete Florida Plus Program while continuing the critical components that are of great benefit to our college and university students. We are confident that new management will improve oversight and decision-making processes. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.

More information on FALSC’s status and details on any changes will be shared with everyone as they become available.

Hello Everyone,

We have just passed the summer solstice, along with the more unusual milepost of having worked from home now for over three months. Unusual is a word that could easily be applied to many aspects of the world around us!  Nonetheless, FALSC staff continue to make strong progress on major projects, such as the Alma Primo migration, the implementation of OpenAthens and Consortia Manager, extraordinarily successful negotiations with e-resources vendors, and much more, as you’ll read about throughout this issue of the Update.

At FALSC our continued goal is to provide superior customer service and ensure the institutions we work with feel confident and supported in any environment. This goal rings especially true as we respond to uncertainty around COVID-19. In light of the current environment, FALSC business operations will be conducted remotely until further notice.  Although most FALSC staff will be working remotely during this period, regular email communication will be monitored. Please feel free to reach out to any staff members as needed. We want to assure you that FALSC continues active business operations and we are committed to helping to support your needs.
